The APS vice president takes on a leadership role at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory

Laura Greene named new chief scientist at MagLab.
Greene, an experimental condensed matter physicist, has previously worked at Bell Labs and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She earned her undergraduate degree from Ohio State University and her Ph.D. from Cornell University.
“I have so much respect for the quality of research taking place at the MagLab across scientific disciplines,” Greene said in a press release. “The organization is known around the world as the premier location for high magnetic field research and for a remarkable commitment to educating the community about how high magnetic field research is relevant to their lives.”
