APS mourns the passing of Stephen Hawking, known for his groundbreaking contributions to our understanding of gravity and cosmology, who inspired the world with his indomitable courage, incredible willpower and, as the most celebrated scientist since Einstein, his efforts in promoting science and rationality worldwide.
