Contribute to APS through planned giving and IRA options
The American Physical Society (APS) advances and diffuses the knowledge of physics through its premier journals, meetings, programs, and advocacy. APS is proud to serve the scientific interests of more than 50,000 members around the world. If your livelihood or personal interests revolve around physics, we hope that we have had a positive impact in your endeavors.
Now, we ask you to continue supporting the advancement of physics through APS initiatives such as: education and diversity, public outreach, government and international affairs, and the matching membership program for researchers in developing countries.
With your donation, you may choose a specific program, or donate to the unrestricted fund to help initiatives where the need is greatest. We thank you in advance for supporting the thriving global community of physicists and researchers from academia, international labs, and industry.
Thank you for supporting advocacy in the scientific community!
Or, contact your IRA Manager today and request that a distribution be made directly to APS by year end. Be sure to request that your gift is identified with your name, address, and intention to use it as an IRA rollover or otherwise.

Benefits of Planned Giving
Join a growing group of supporters who have made future plans to support APS. If you choose to support APS through planned giving or an IRA charitable rollover, you can help sustain the Society’s long-term health. These giving options offer forward-thinking donors the opportunity to:
Reduce Your Taxable Income Through the IRA Charitable Rollover
If you are 70 ½ years old or older, you can support APS programs (not otherwise covered by member dues) through a meaningful and tax-free gift directly from your traditional or Roth IRA.
You may transfer up to $100,000 every year as a new, outright gift, or to satisfy an existing pledge to APS.
